Your best toilet training tips and tricks? My son is 3 in January. We had a great momentum but his teacher started pressuring him to go on the toilet a few times a day at school (after she changed his diaper??) and now he just withholds the entire day if we try. We told her to stop 2 months ago, we don’t pressure him, we read books and talk about it, he hangs out with his diaper on his toilet when we’re in the bathroom. Advice was 3 days home naked to train him but what comes after? TIA!

After that you put him clothes so he does not go to school naked.

A trick that worked for my son when he was around 3: got him cute underwear (Thomas Train at that time) but they’d go in trash if he soiled them. He soon learned to use the potty so his Thomas train doesn’t go in trash.

Diapers and going potty is confusing for a child. I recommend 3 day potty training book. At 3 years old they will grasp the concept in 3 days but one of the main rules was zero diapers

the only way to go, I potty trained in 3 days with my 2.5 yo

3 days naked and then 3 weeks commando if they’ll allow it otherwise looser fit undies like boxer briefs vs briefs that mimic how a diaper feels on the legs.

They’re making us send him in pull-ups which makes no sense

Read Oh Crap. great method if you actually follow if and pay attention during those first few weeks

Somewhat similar experience with my daughter. We paused for a few months similar to you and picked back up after she turned 3.

Weekend in just underwear and placed the potty in the bathtub partially filled with water so that her feet were in the water. That water definitely helped her relax since she seemed scared to go on both the little potty and regular toilet.

Good luck!

Is it crazy to wait another month or 2? He’s turning 3 mid January. I don’t know if he’s too old to still be in diapers but I just prefer doing this on a weekend when I’m off work (new years etc)

Totally fine to wait until you have some time off! I think when he is ready, he will get it quickly. Some even say wait until 3 to potty train. I wanted to do it as soon as possible and gave up twice before my son got it just before his 3rd birthday. We tried every long weekend we could dedicate to potty training. First at 18 months, then at 20 months, finally success at 23 months. Once he’s reliably trained you put him in underwear for school.

For any of you real estate investors, what tools or sources did you learn from when getting started. Can’t find a mentor currently so want to find some highly recommended books or videos. If focused on the tri-state area (NY, NJ, Long Island mainly) that would be even better. My hope is to buy and rent out a apartment while also owning a house and house hacking that by renting part of it out. Trying to understand all the steps, traps, and how to find if it’s a good investment.

I am an associate at an AM200 firm and was (IMO) very clear prior to accepting this role that I value work-life balance and wanted to try to keep work at night on the weekends to a minimal, but since February, it seems like it’s always something that requires my time as needed disregarding “business hours” or my personal schedule. Thoughts on whether to bring this up or continue to be a team player until I burn out and pay off my student loans?
