Depends upon the team. If you're in a specialist role, might be long promotion cycles. But tbh, if I came in as manager at say 180 at EY, I would be trying to make a case for senior manager more or less immediately (assuming I joined early in the annual promotion cycle). Most EY senior managers I have encountered in the US, with the exception of some who have gone in and out of industry, are not very experienced. I was a manager there and found myself unable to learn basically anything from them (With a couple of exceptions), as a lot of them had less experience than me. But may depend on the practice, as I was in M&A. Advisory PI may be different.
I never heard of a manager in either TAS or Advisory making 220k. In Parthenon-EY perhaps. Senior managers in TAS can go as high as 290-300k i believe, but when you are up there, you should start thinking about getting to partner ASAP, as people will be grilling you each year for your sales numbers anyways. Just seems like a shitty position to be in.
EY manager comp tops out at around 180-190. And bonus will probably be around 10%. 401k match will be 25c on the dollar up to 6% of your salary (rising to 50c on the dollar with tenure...)
Sure they do...? At my old team (transaction advisory), MBAs would be hired at senior consultant level at 145k base. I think Advisory does the same?
No, that would put you in SM territory. I'm SM1 starting at 190k and think that's in line with my peers as well (give and take a little).
SMs at EY make 150 base
If you got hired on at that salary, youâd be looking at 1-3% annual raises the next 4 years to adjust. My boss (SM) came in at 220k and has gotten 4 rating every year and 1-3% every year as well.
In advisory PI. Your assessment is correct.
190k is what a majority of our sen mgrs aspire to
Bonuses this year were shit. I think realistic bonuses from here on are 3%-6% on avg
I'm a new hire at 175
M1 thank you, that's very helpful. Does EY have any annual 401k contributions, or match only?
22 vacation plus 3 personal and something like 16 weeks paternity
401k is matched per pay period 1-4 years 25% of 6% salary after 4 years 50% match of 6% salary
From what you stated prior you will be making less here, base may be similar but bonus and 401 match significantly less, just to be up front
EY4 - That's why I'm hoping to offset at least part of the bonus by higher base. Otherwise, it's a non-starter. I hope that's not the case because I'm really interested and like everyone I met.
Well everything is negotiable so best of luck getting what you need
Yes
Honestly I don't think so. I have never heard anyone make such high base at EY as a manager. However, as I said in my post above there can always be exceptions.
In TAS those numbers are much higher, 200-220 base for M1s
