I was offered $108k for a designer role at chiat\day LA. Is that good? Should I have asked for more given today’s market? I’m looking for reasons to give up my freelancing lifestyle and was hoping for a title bump, which I didn’t get. I’m super unfamiliar w the advertising market and used to be a product designer. Took a pay cut to do more creative work, but if I can get back the salary I had, I would.
Here is my idea for a startup! I collect all the data from career transitions and use Data Analytics to predict the most likely career transitions. I could start with consulting. What do you guys think about this? I would be able to predict based on your firm(mbb, big4), your experience, which role you are likely to move (Faang pm, strategy manager, move to mbb). I have all the data to do this, but wanted your thoughts. Would the output of this be relevant to you?
What’s that one line that a client or supervisor has said to you that crushed your soul?

A former Manager reached out about an e-commerce manager role for a relatively young company doing $35M/year. The role manages inventory on the site (20 skus), CRO, and Analytics plus the e-tailers (Amazon). They launched a site redesign and CVR tanked, but from what I gather they have too much of a focus on Paid Social and upper-funnel tactics. They’re hiring for a Demand Gen Analyst/Manager from a different manager. So, the roles report into different people. Question below:
Should I be concerned for my career with lack of billable projects? Background: Analyst hired out of undergrad in July 2020. I have worked on 3 proposals in the last 2 weeks, and 5 in the last 2 months. In the past year since I was hired, I have 8 months of billable work which is actually slightly higher than the other Analysts I joined with. Should I keep collecting paychecks and hoping for projects, or is this a serious issue that should prompt an exit strategy?
