Help out a foreigner here. What are some of the things you NYers in the office know you have to read in between the line?

Looking to improve general communication skills (especially around structuring narrative/ key messages), any books/courses that you would recommend?

Realizing that at the end of the day, performance is down to who likes you as a person.

I’ve been working for 3 years and noticed that if you like someone as a person, everything annoying or wrong they do, you brush to the side as a quirk. But if you don’t like them, it’s amplified as incompetence and flaws.

Got a first round at Kearney ATI, scheduled for a introductory Teams meeting with the recruiter, followed by the case and behavioral interviews. Any tips for the intro meeting, the behavioral or process overall?

What happens to your shares if you are partially, or not even 1 yr vested at a pre-IPO company and the company goes public? When you continue on your vesting schedule, what price do you purchase your vested shares at?

The pandemic has brought misery for a few sales organizations and unforeseen opportunities for a few others. How many folks out here crushed Q2? If so by what % did you exceed your quarterly quota? Did someone have their best quarter till date? Let’s celebrate some accomplishments!

I'm thinking of moving from large cap tech to large cap consultancy firm to help build the resume and round out my experience. I enjoy and do well in licensing, but I'm fairly young in my career (<6 years) and received a great offer to make the move.

Wondering what people think about my situation. I’ve been offered a role with a company. The job description didn’t mention college degree as a requirement. On my CV I have a section listed as “Education” and under it I have “Business Studies” with the university name and the 3 years that I attended the course (2.5 to be exact). It’s a 4 year degree and under this I have my High School equivalent with the years I attended there. The education wasn’t mentioned in the interviews. Continued below.

Had a really bad day 😞 I don’t know why I keep doing this to myself. Things will be going well and then out of nowhere I get blackout drunk. I am tired of feeling sick and anxious from drinking. I don’t really even want to drink sometimes but do it anyway. Blacked out last night, and still feel sick now. I’ve never shared with anyone that I have this problem, until I found this message board. I have so much anxiety that I won’t be able to get this under control. I feel isolated and sad.
