soo my sleep schedule is effed up, i keep trying to wake up early-ish (7am) but i’m lacking motivation and i wake up tired 😴
i stumbled upon this article that talked about this book. we always hear about the “secret” of strong leaders is that they wake up early. has anyone read this/tried it out?

Cheapish desk recs? I like two tiered models 🤗

Wow. By the powers vested in my by nobody, i hereby declare PwC as officially being at the bottom of our big 4 stack. EY suddenly looks a whole lot better. I almost joined PwC a few years ago. Thanks dog to the kind partner who counseled me to stay.
I understand how this can be demotivating. Without knowing current salary and years as mgr though it is difficult to say how much you are getting worked over. At some point any job has a max it can pay and raises only come via inflation driven band adjustments. It's clear since they rolled out cohorts this situation is expected - drives up or out if you want pay increases. In theory it can be fair if cohort is banded to market pay and bonus is reflective of performance for year - not convinced we have these right yet though

Rating is irrelevant to salary. Welcome to cohort.
Were you at the top end of your cohort pay band OP? That's the only reason I would think you would get a 1 and not get a raise.
^ nonsense. Cohort model rewards laggards and slackers while severely penalizing high performers. It is a microcosm of communism.
Consistency..
OP, like all the other people on here bitching about not getting a raise, is already one of the highest paid at their level in the firm. You likely came into the firm within the last 2 years, and you negotiated well to get in at the salary you did. Congrats for that. While I'm sure it's not great getting paid the same next year as you did this year, take solace in knowing you're better paid than everyone else, and STFU and quit bitching. Or... leave. Get a raise my jumping to another firm. Leave the network you've built here and start fresh somewhere else.
Then, once you've been in that firm for a year and don't get a raise because they gave you one coming in, you can get back on fishbowl and start whining again. The never ending cycle of entitlement. We are ALL way overpaid for what we do. Learn to be happy, your salary puts you in at least the top 5% of earners in this country.
Wow, PDubs sucks
Also! They may surprise you and not promote you from A2-SA1! Happened to quite a few of us this year because our groups last minute eliminated early promos for campus hires!
@P2. Manager
We're unfortunately getting more bureaucratic by the year. That is the perfect way to lose talent.
SC1 - that is what bonuses are for. OP's 1 rating probably netted him a $30K bonus vs a 3 rating's maybe $8K bonus. OP is already making a salary $40K more than P17 - how much more can he expect? He can't be making director money with manager responsibilities. If you are at top of pay band get promoted within or outside the firm
Time to jump OP, or get it on good authority that you're getting promoted this year.
That makes no sense
Seriously, a 1 and no raise? What level are you? Time to bounce!
Yes 1 is top Rating.
Gotta love this equality model...you have to wait for all those who low balled themselves to catch up...
OP - I think you need to assess promo prospects. I'm MW too and honestly just swapping consultancy at manager level you'll be hard pressed to get too much of a bump above 160. At most could swing 170ish but you'd prob put overall comp at risk with more challenging to keep 1 rated performance and bonus. If money is your aim, jump for a promo and associated bump in consulting, get promo'd at PwC (you'll jump to 185ish) , or find an industry job where overall comp package beats consulting
P17 - truth
