Wow. By the powers vested in my by nobody, i hereby declare PwC as officially being at the bottom of our big 4 stack. EY suddenly looks a whole lot better. I almost joined PwC a few years ago. Thanks dog to the kind partner who counseled me to stay.

I understand how this can be demotivating. Without knowing current salary and years as mgr though it is difficult to say how much you are getting worked over. At some point any job has a max it can pay and raises only come via inflation driven band adjustments. It's clear since they rolled out cohorts this situation is expected - drives up or out if you want pay increases. In theory it can be fair if cohort is banded to market pay and bonus is reflective of performance for year - not convinced we have these right yet though

By not getting a raise you are actually loosing money since you could have gotten a raise elsewhere. Your current base salary will determine your future new salary at a new job so not getting a raise now decrease your overall earning potential for years to come.

Why shouldn't it be possible for high performing manager to be paid more than a low performing director, if manager has more impact?

like

P6... the highest performing Ms will be equivalent to low Ds. Taking Midwest example of OP, a top M will pull $155 + $30k. A 3 or 4 rated D1 will pull $180 +$0-8k

like

Did not know that P14. Thank you for that insight. This was a good discussion and I humbly thank you all for your thoughts and input. At the end of the day there are worse things to worry about in life. I have some tough decisions to make in the coming months but I'll remain positive, continuing working smart and hard and I'm sure things will fall in place as it's meant to be

Is it safe to assume a "1" is a good rating? At deloitte it's the best and EY looks like the worst (based on FB). If so, very glad I'm still at D and didn't make the jump to P.

Nope. I asked that. Told was near the top of the bonus pool but not max

Can't believe this is true

M4 - should be closer to 180k ..in advisory , major city. 160 seems low , but again depend on your city and practice

PwC has had its days, and unfortunately even those days were too glorious, time to leave.

like

Closer to the top 10% based on salary alone... just sayin

like

Dumb shit SC1, OP is already paid better than everyone else! OP probably got the highest bonus is their group. That's where the 1 rating comes into play. Pay attention.

like

I didn't get a salary increase during my two years at PwC. Recently left for a significant pay increase in a role I am more interested in - couldn't be happier. Sorry, OP...hope you find something better that makes you happier!

I guess it depends on your source. The attached link puts $150k at 11%, but I saw another one closer to what @pwc17 said. I guess keep usin the one that makes you feel good about yourself brah http://money.cnn.com/calculator/pf/income-rank/

like

P17- totally understand and thank you for putting things in perspective. It's all true and I shouldn't complain. Just wanted to share my experience. Just for background- been here enough years to rise from A to M.

like

^^^ then either your group isn't promoting anyone or there is some political reason not to promote you.

In either case, your best move is to leave the firm. Did your RP tell you what was said at CRT as to why you weren't promoted to Director?
