10 year RSP teacher. I was reassigned to teach a mild mod 3-5 SDC class next school year. My first job after student teaching was RSP 10 years ago. Never had my own class. I would push in and do pull out services for students with IEPs from General Ed. Same district. I’m kinda anxious about next year. Any advice?

Started my new job today! I’m joining a late stage startup coming from a more mature company, and am noticing a lotttt of documentation debt. Anyone else the last to be informed about ANYTHING at their site? I am only a second year SPED teacher and my eyes are already wide open to the fact that admin and Gen Ed teachers so often fail to inform me about important things regarding the grade levels I teach and other school events. Then I’m left scrambling to inform my students and parents of essential information, and I’m embarrassed! My aides also look at me like why don’t you know this? Aggravating.

A child that kicked ,punched and spit at staff and students.He wanted was to go to the principals office. In the principals office he played with Legos, cars and toys. Rewards for bad behavior.

Too many cooks in the kitchen

I love my job in special education, the job may bring quite a bit of stress and exhaustion but nothing compares to the stress of the related service team. OT, PT, speech, BCBA, social worker, etc etc is really what’s killing me this year. It is 23 days into the school year and the team members all make different plans and as a result, nothing is being accomplished. And if paraprofessionals follow ie what OT says but not PT, it cause so much unnecessary conflict!
