Do any women work at bridgebio? On my 4th interview now and it’s been all men so far. The leadership section on the website for the subsidiary company I’m interviewing at is also all men (5/5) And someone in recruiting asked me if I have kids the first time we spoke. Weird or am I overthinking it?

I love teaching art but am having to teach remotely to 1150 kids, k - 5. Have about 54 amazing elementary art teachers in my district that share SO much! I could retire (34 yrs), but just don’t want to because I love what I do! Feeling like my students aren’t getting what they should because I am struggling with Zoom, Microsoft, safe YouTube, bitmoji, embedding, downloads, editing, etc. Anyone else feeling this way?

Why do recruiters love Misrepresenting roles? I was told the role I would be interviewing for would be a finance/accounting hybrid role. It ended up just being a role where I would do journals entries all day lol.

I use gantt charts to plan activities & deliverables, kanban boards to mamge them. My weapons of choice:
- MS Project (Smartsheet not as strong on core gantt features/functions but superior for sharing + all it's customization, abilities, is etc.)

- Trello for Kanban (labeling, filtering, robust add-ons, finally on enterprise task-level assignmemts). Sadly, Smartsheet kanban is weak.

Is there an integrated package that does both gantt & kanban that approaches these point solutions?

How many of you in SpEd are Multiple Disability teachers with the lowest functioning population on Virtual teaching using the Canvas platform and the Enhanced Learning Program that is within the Canvas Platform? I have started putting things in place today and am finding it to be easier to get into it and follow the process with suggestions for improvements and leveled activities for the individual students. I have a lot to learn in a small increment of time. Would love to team up 🎓

What’s a reasonable sized caseload for middle school? I feel like mine is big, but I kind of want to get a feel from others before I complain.

Do you ever feel like you’re not allowed to vent about a bad day? I feel like we can’t just vent and chalk it up to a bad day and move on. If we are overheard saying anything than sunshine and rainbows you have to be scared of admin coming down on you - as far as written up for being unprofessional. Is it like this everywhere?!

A student I work with uses AAC but doesn’t have science terms in their device. The focus is on core vocabulary but I feel lost not teaching these terms. I wanna modify but feel lost. I could contact the speech teacher but need a short term solution

Any Spec Ed teachers feel like every time you try to get your program running you can’t? I am not in a self-contained class but more of a student drop in resource room where I work in small groups with life skills students who come to me for instruction & then take independent tasks back to class to complete. I have a lot of room to add students to my schedule- but my boss seems to think I shouldn’t be taking on more students but it’s my job to help those struggling students. I’m at a loss.

Hello Teachers! I hope all of you are doing well to the start to the new school year. I’d like to ask those of you who are California special education teachers a question. IEPs service minutes lunch snd breaks being included in daily minutes.
64,800 min. are required number of service minutes per year( for grades 9-12), you divide that by 180 ( 180 school days) = 360. In those 360 minutes of their day ;lunch & break is included correct? I mean some students have that as goals in there IEP. Help

How would you go about assisting a 6th grader with a second grade reading level? I’ve been asked this question by a secretary and told that needing more background information is unnecessary. How would you assist this 6th grade student with limited information given?

Question: If SPED students are receiving their Resource Minutes AFTER the regular school hours from their peers (8:30-10:30) is that Legal? They are not being pulled from the general Ed classes, but participating in an extended day. Should minutes be calculated based on a normal school day or the 2 hours they are in class?

Hi. I am a Transition teacher in California. I would like to know what is the ratio of students to staff for community outings in your districts? I have been teaching in my district for 20+ years and it has always been 4:1 ratio for our moderate/severe transition classes. Now our director is saying it's 6:1 and I don't feel like this is safe for our students.

I am still teaching remotely and very worried about returning to school. My students are young students with autism and masks and distancing are not possible.

When 1 of 7 IEP students with a small group accommodation causes great disruption to the other 6 students trying to take a GenEd test in my resource room, can I stop letting him come to my room or test him in isolation away from the others? What is my best course of action?
