Should you negotiate a longer notice period when you receive a job offer because you have vacation planned? Any advice for someone looking to exit PA for better work life bakance?

A few days ago I was offered a role for a recruiter with a company. Benefits, PTO, pay is decent, enough to get me by. I accepted today because it was the final day to do so. I was then called by a recruiter for another company, in which they made me a better offer for a Generalist and I want to take this one. What do I do? I didn’t sign a contract, there’s no clause that states I need to take the position.

Maybe holiday party is ambitious. Any interest in a Friday afternoon happy hour?

This is not a sarcastic question, I genuinely want to know, how do you use PTO as an attorney? Is your billable hour requirement for the month offset, or are you expected to make it up? How do you make sure your cases are all good and there won’t be any fires while you’re gone?

I’m currently at a boutique agency where it’s just me and my boss doing RM for about 200+ people. I have been there for almost a year and have implemented some new processes that are starting to help streamline the process. I currently make $85K. Is this an appropriate salary for my level? I am being approached for RM roles at consulting firms and other agencies. I like the idea of building something here but would also like better benefits (more vacation, better mat leave).

I just left a premium growth agency to go back in-house at a profitable scaleup with a recommendation from the CMO who was my boss 6 years ago. Today’s my 3rd day and regreting it horrible — the place is super disorganized, and now that I see all that I have to do to make the place a decent experience I feel I got lowballed, and the PTO/sick days structure isn’t really what I expected. Any tips on what to do? Should I consider going back to the job hunt and risk my relationship with ny boss?

How bad does it look to quit my job without anything else lined up? I’m 28 with 175k saved up and have 5 years of work experience at a top rating agency (at S&P). I’m honestly a bit lost and just want to travel for 3-6 months and then pivot to something else. I’m just burned out and I think that quitting and taking a beat would really help. I can’t take a sabbatical and still be employed because I already took time off for health reasons.

Our system is really lacking and we do a lot of work outside of it to track data. Currently I’m using Excel to track data from multiple resources, however, it’s so manual and prone to error. Any suggestions to keep the data clean when I have to pull info from multiple places? I’m constantly auditing and we won’t even look at getting a new system until next year :(

Has anyone seen any unique places to find UX portfolios or post jobs other than the usual suspects?
Some UX Slack channels were doing well for a while but I definitely don’t see as much traction there. Meetups obviously came and went. Even the portfolio sites like Dribbble and Behance don’t seem that same.
