How many years of experience do you have overall? Depending on the complexity of the resource managing you are doing, how intertwined it is with finance and if you are at a level of being a strategic partner to finance and leadership you should be making 100k plus.
Ask for a raise. On my teams in the past the salary level for this kind of RM is 85-100k. A senior is 100-140k. This is in major markets so maybe you will see a bit lower in a smaller market. Lay out the process improvements you have made in the past year and put forward a number you would be happy with. Ask for what you want. You won’t get it otherwise.
Ask prior to your review, there is no reason you need to wait to start the conversation. Generally the budget is discussed well before review meetings actually take place.
Overall I have 8 years of agency experience, 2 years of RM experience. Previous roles include business management and traffic/pm. We don’t track hours (I know 🙄) so really don’t partner with finance on that but are starting to work with them on making sure contracts are renewed in a timely manner. I’m also working with the finance SVP who also kind of heads up operations to implement the processes because we know we need them in place in order to scale properly. For instance, I’m implementing a ticketing system that works with our new business software and slack so that all staffing requests come to one dashboard. It’s a very all hands pitch in kind of place. Should I aske for a raise?
