2023 Michter’s 10-yr bourbon. I know this release was highly anticipated, since it wasn’t released in 2022, and the higher-than-normal price (retail and secondary) reflects that. I thought (hoped) it was also because this release was excellent.

I had the opportunity to try it in NYC over the weekend. I liked it but overall not that great. For less money I strongly prefer JD12, and I’m wondering how Beam’s well aged Hardins Creek series (Jacob’s Well, Boston, Clermont, Frankfort) stacks up.

Just finished Train Dreams by Denis Johnson. Superb. Gonna start Tree of Smoke next.
