Ladies, are gifts important to you?
Advice needed - boyfriend has almost 3.5 years of finance experience at a bank. Interviewed for PwC valuation senior associate and now recruiter says they want to hire him at “experienced associate” because he has no valuation experience. Is this too big of a step backwards in career? Should he push back and see if it gets him anywhere? If he does accept Associate, is it reasonable to ask for written, definitive timeline (1 year?) for promo to Senior upon meeting standards? Help!

I wish I could be in your shoe. I would do it in a heart beat. Lots of potential!
I know, I feel like it’s now or never
Keep on looking for better roles. Dont undersell
This is what I landed after months of looking 😅
Go do it! Much more potential in a big city.
That’s what I think too!
Just keep in mind that will end up being more than a 30k cut if you’re going from a MCOL to a HCOL. But do what makes you happy.
Definitely. I know it’s gonna be a huge financial and lifestyle downgrade
Personally think that moves like this not only open up professional opportunities but also personal ones. There’s so much growth that can happen in a new place. If you won’t go into financial ruin, do it!
I’m nervous about the financial part! Everything else is perfect! Especially the professional network and my new coworkers
Follow your dreams but don’t be afraid to negotiate for higher pay if you haven’t already.
I haven’t but I’ll give it a shot!
No! Do not take that pay cut. Negotiate to at least your current salary or wait for another job in new city.
I doubt I’ll be able to match what I make :(
Take it
Always follow your curiosity and growth if you can ☀️
The jump from MCOL to HCOL will be a challenge at that amount - but not impossible. Try to negotiate a little bit, but ultimately if the financial stress won’t ruin your happiness, then I say go for it. Many more opportunities in a bigger city anyway.
Market is tough and the employers is definitely taking advantage.
I wouldnt do it.
But if you are single and dont plan to stay with this company for long then go for it. Plenty of opportunities, easier to find a new job when already fulltime and living in hcol.
