Does a PhD in computer science make it any easier to get jobs at big tech companies versus only having a Masters? I know that I want to eventually work at a company like Google or Salesforce and I feel I have a long road to get there coming out a Masters program with not much work experience. I hear people say that a PhD is generally only for those interested in academia/research but then I see job postings at companies like VMware that want people with a PhD. So it makes me wonder?

I am currently getting a Master's of Library and Information Sciences, teaches information technology but it doesn't specialize in it. I am interested in working in UX Design. I have a BA in Psychology. Would it be beneficial to get into one of those UX boot camps to create a portfolio or do I just do one and begin to apply for entry UX roles? Thank you 🙏🏼
I am currently getting my masters in Industrialand organizational psychology. Recently saw an opening for HR internship position at TIKTOK. Here is my tailored resume. Feel free to leave me a feedback. The format looks a bit messy right now but this is just my draft. The other half is posted in the comments. Why the offer from PwC is so low
PwC is only offering you 55k for a tech consulting role? That seems incredibly low
That’s what I am asking myself too, it is a first year associate position. Is it appropriate to counter their offer?
Yeah you should try to counter with your other offer. For what it’s worth, I got an offer from PwC a few months ago for 65k for audit, and consulting usually pays more than audit does. I don’t know the specifics of your situation but it can’t hurt to try negotiating
Is this through the acceleration center?
The PwC is through the Cloud Institute
Ah mine doesn’t have that option unfortunately
You should counter the pwc offer. I'm starting at EY 0 YOE 88k+5k and I imagine comps are super comparable. Nerdwallet COL calculator says the philly job pays more in real terms than the litigation job in NYC, though.
Wow. For what position?
