I’ve been trying to get into the top tier Associate Product Marketing Manager position Google for some time now for just an interview and I feel like business majors somehow have such a stronger chance in getting interviewed especially my business school and I feel really discouraged as an Econ Major and I have a lot of marketing experience that I’ve built over the years. Are there any non-business majors in the tech realm in non technical positions at Google that can advise me?
Bain & Company I’m a PhD student looking to start in consulting and am looking to connect with other PhD/ADP consultants that went into consulting to learn more about the experience and how to prep for case interviews coming from a non-business background. I don't think this would hurt as long as you do it in a professional manner. You can send an e-mail thanking them for their time with the 1st interview, and ask if they have any suggestions on best ways to prepare for the next round of interviews.
I think it's fine as long as you phrase it generally and not like you're trying to get an unfair advantage
