Start rejecting work - your hours are far too high. Also, delegate more if you can. Setting boundaries and getting into the swing of maximizing delegation is key to survival.
I’ve started rejecting work and trying to delegate, which is a skill on its own that I’m realizing I need to practice and develop.
You need to start delegating immediately. I would take a breather, sit down and catalog your projects and figure out which ones you can pass to a junior. Hopefully you have AI that you can use to help draft the juniors emails providing directions/thoughts. When cataloging, if you find yourself thinking "that will only take me an hour to do, I will just do it" -- don't keep the project, pass it to a junior.
Using AI to write the instructions is a great idea, thank you !

Get in line lol. Clearly you have partnership aspirations. Otherwise, go in house or lateral

Meaning everyone here who is in the same boat has similar qualms.
Understand you don’t have 100% control over your hours but there is not a chance you are performing optimally at 2800 from a qualitative standpoint (or at least as optimally as you could be if you were closer to, e.g., 2300 or 2400).
Agree, which is why I’m very actively trying to reject work/delegate/wind down some of my projects.
3 deals came back from the dead at once and upended my first half of the year entirely.

It’s obvious you’re just trying to humblebrag your hours. I get it, I’ve been there. But what do you want people to say to you?
I really don’t. I came here to see if a) others felt the same feeling of regression despite working really hard and b) advice on how I stop this from continuing to spiral. But thanks.
2800 is preposterous. What are you trying to prove?

Some people just don't know what else to do with their time. I'm not surprised, especially at that senior.
