Hi folks
I wanted a suggestion from you all guys, I have given interview of PS and got a call for offer after interview and I denied the offer as I have received an offer from some other company, I denied coz I was not doing offer shopping or piling offers, he tried to convince me and when I didn't get convinced he said to blacklist me from PS. What to do?

JPMorgan Chase recently introduced a policy change to increase the notice period to 60 days. I'm a 602 and resigned recently and yet my LWD is showing up as 30 days from now. Anyone recently resigned can confirm if they are facing the same or new policy is in effect. This is causing confusion with the next companies I'm interviewing with.

I think I will just say that I appreciate the firm’s commitment to diversity and the fact that I would love to contribute to these affinity groups, without putting myself in the equation. I may also add that this is the first firm I have seen with a group dedicated to first generation academics, which is honorable since consulting is a notoriously inaccessible career for this category of people

I’m also from a poor family. “sometimes my single mom didn’t eat dinner so I could eat poor.” Don’t do this. If I were reviewing your interview I’d immediately assume you were going to be a problem looking for special treatment. You can call me callous or whatever but I’m just being honest.
It is very inspiring to see a partner with a similar background to mine, thank you for responding to my post. I do feel like an outsider, and I constantly felt the need to overachieve during my mbb internship because of my background

If they ask, tell them. Otherwise I don’t think I’d mention it.

If they ask you why you picked the firm then I say go ahead and tell them your reasoning. But if they don’t ask I don’t think I would say anything.
Yes - but mention your commitment to diversity and inclusion is strong and goes above and beyond lip service, e.g., you have this affinity group..,
Sounds like KPMG - and there was a lot of hoo haa in the news when they did this so think you should be ok.
I would if they ask. It shows you’ve done your research and are serious about making a difference at the firm and within the AG.
I think it’s entirely fair game to speak to the company’s culture, mission, and values. The affinity groups would fall under that umbrella as a mechanism to act. Go for it and congrats on the interview !!
Which firm is this? I’d like to know as a first gen professional also, thanks!
I’ll dm you! I don’t want to be recognized
You don’t think it’s first generation immigrant rather than first generation to go to college?
I made sure to confirm that with my contacts within then company. They define first generation students as those coming from families where neither parent attended college
I would just treat them equally like any other candidate, but feel free to talk about your personal reasons if the candidate asks you why you like working there. I think that’ll come off more as a genuine response and resonate with the candidate.
I am just trying to answer “why this firm” in a way that isn’t generic and tries to be genuine
I’d rate it if you did but I’m not sure every interviewer would see it this way!

I’ll go against the grain here and say you should - definitely needs framing but I think aligning yourself with the companies culture is a smart move

I don’t know why I need to believe you, my experience is different than yours and I’m basing my opinion of what I’ve lived.
