A few months ago I moved a refrigerated load from California to New York. Midway through Illinois, the reefer unit failed and the temperature started climbing fast. I had to coordinate a mobile repair crew, secure a backup trailer on standby, and constantly update the customer while monitoring the produce quality. It turned into a 20-hour marathon of calls, rerouting, and problem-solving. In the end, the load made it intact. Logistics is less about trucks and more about crisis management.

I think many of us, in many different industries, don't get enough credit for what it takes to solve all the problems thrown at us. Definitely should be getting more credit than we do, pretty much all of us.

I do have a related story. I ran a restaurant for a few years. One night, they were re-wiring the mall we had a location in, and thought the mall might be without electricity for a few hours.

It took weeks of co-ordination, getting a refrigerated storage trailer with a generator, and moving ALL the refrigerated food to the trailer, PLUS securing the trailer, and then moving everything back the next morning.

Only, we never actually lost power. At all. And the refrigerators can be down for four hours before anything becomes an issue.

All that work, for nothing. Just to ensure we were safe in case someone else managed to screw up their job.

Recruiter shared post on-site feedback and she mentioned that she would like to do the team match and do 1-2 additional rounds of interviews because the feedbacks now are borderline and have a very low chance of HC. Any team here who's hiring SAP Program Manager role? Please kindly keep in contact with me :)

Hello! This is a long story, so I’ll try to keep it brief. I work for a very small supplement company - it’s myself (marketing/acct mgmt) my coworker (sales), and the owner. My coworker is struggling to complete his tasks/meet his goals, and the owner is coming to me about angry clients. I’m afraid my coworkers inability to complete his duties is somehow being reflected onto me? What’s the most tactful way to have a conversation, either with him or the owner? Can provide further detail if needed

Hi everyone, I'm new to Canada and want to start my career here in the Financial and Banking industry. I have passed the CFA level 2 exam and was wondering if I have to complete the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) as most of the job postings here mention about it. I saw that if someone passes at least the CFA level 1 exam then the requirement of CSC is exempted. Can anyone enlighten me about this? As the CSC exam costs above 1000 CAD, I wanted to be sure if I need it before investing behind it.

Currently going through some negations on an internal role. I’m currently at 88k and they offered me 100k for a position that requires a lot more work. Do you guys think it’s easier to land a higher salary when applying externally rather than internally? Also this is for a territory sales management role. They stated 120k+ is extremely high for that role. What do you guys think? Playing the game?

Back when I was getting started in the food world, I worked flipping burgers at In-n-Out. A man came in and said the burgers he had gotten weren’t right. He dumped the food on the counter and then he started throwing them back behind the counter. We gave him a refund and then his demeanor completely changed. He was calmer and he told us to have a great day as he left us to clean up the mess he made.

Once when I was waiting tables, I had a guy pay me cash. The change was 45 cents, which I didn't give back to him because like who wants that. He then asked where the change was, and when I explained that I didn't give back the loose change, he made a big stink about how dollars and cents matter and didn't leave me a tip. He was a republican staffer on capitol hill.
