It seems A LOT. Which area are you looking at? Some districts, with big challenges, are trying to attract and retain quality educators, by offering competitive salaries. However, it's crucial to ensure that the compensation matches the job's demands and that there aren't hidden expectations or challenges.
Well the listed salary range is $60,000 - $89,000, so I'm guessing the actual compensation will be much lower. But it's a prep school and it's in Denver, which is a pretty high cost of living city, so I guess there's a chance they'd actually pay at the top of the range, that just seems very unlikely.
Denver is a very expensive place to live. I'm at almost $87k in Iowa, where the standard of living is a fraction of Denver's. Why would you doubt the posting?
High school social studies, 60-89k. I don’t know anything about Denver and costs of living so while I can understand it maybe does sound really high to someone in some areas, might be right on par for the area and school. Perspective goes a long way, might make a lot more, but spend a lot more to be in that area.
The spread 60 to 90k is dependent on your degree and number of additional credits. So so let’s. With a BA would start at 60 while someone with a PhD would start at 90k, everyone else ex: ma, ba+x credits or MA + x credits is in between. That’s how my school does it.
In California it is possible depending on the step.
