Not sure about official, but I’ve always done 10-6 workday (NYC)
8 am is very unusual. Is there a big time difference with a client? Almost all agencies are 9, most ppl roll in between 9:30 and 10.
No, it’s not based on a client in a different time zone. And the very loose 9am start is what I’ve experienced everywhere else I’ve been across the U.S., which is why I asked. Thanks.
Start at 10. End between 4:30 and 11.
You don’t need a start time if you don’t have an end time.
I can’t even think at 8am!
9am, pacific
same
9am, east coast
OP where do you work that it’s 8 am??? No thank you.
Daily standups happen around ~10am EST but individual work starts before as needed.
I’m in-house and remote, and my company starts at 8 as well. I’ll see some people on at 6-something too! Like, huh?! I am not a culture fit here, and I know it, but the money is good.

Tech. Don’t ask.
9am UK. Although we work with Tokyo based clients, so the team are often on early calls.
9 am
9 when I was ET, 8:30 at 2 different CT agencies
9 am EST but weekly status starts at 10am. 8 am is too early. I’ve also had roles 10-6 if it’s CST. I try not to do PST unless it’s a short freelance gig. Knowing myself also helps me turn down what doesn’t fit.
9
Usually 8:30/9 CST though it varies if working with an East Coast team.
