So to be clear, you don’t want to talk to any people ever again because someone asked what a CV is?
Yes. 100%
One tactic I’ve found to garner empathy in these types of conversations is to learn a foreign language and practice with native speakers. You’ll often have to lean on the knowledge of the other person to converse. Then, you won’t feel as resentful when you’re in the role of a teacher in a conversation.
It’s an older person, who should know, and it otherwise not great at their job
This seems like a big overreaction. There's a difference between a CV and a resume. Some industries/countries don't even use CVs.
I think the question is reasonable, but I'm not sure that I would have asked right away. I probably would have tried to find the answer on google and asked you if I couldn't find a quick answer. Not everyone has that same instinct.
There's no need to shame or judge someone for asking.
This honestly has me laughing. The amount of times someone has sent me something stupid kills me. I would have Googled what a CV was if I didn't know.
