I’m looking to carve out my career in HR. I have 2 years in a dedicated HR Coordinator role (essentially with Generalist duties) and 5+ years in senior level hospitality management. I’m interested in getting my PHR or getting a certificate in data analytics with business/HR focus. Thoughts on next steps?

PHR is a great next step it will give you a great broad view of HR. If you want to drill down deeper into data analytics, I would do that after the PHR.

Thank you! That’s what I was leaning towards.

Though there are many HMBradley posts, a search has not helped me answer the following two questions: 1. I'm ready to take the plunge; would someone like to give me a referral link? 2. Trying to understand how to maintain a 20% savings rate if I need to actually use the funds at some point. I understand I need to make some direct deposits before June, and as long as I don't withdraw, I'll qualify for 3% starting in July. It seems that I should also transfer the money I want to save (cont)

Is anyone else who is currently unemployed and looking for their next role, slowly running out of steam? I used to get up and reach out to my network, network, apply for roles, redo resume/site, take a few online classes (to stay up to date), staying up to date on design trends etc.. Now I’m just like what’s the point. Then someone posts about thier new role, and it’s not like I’m jealous. I just feel so exhausted, and I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. (Not looking 4 sympathy/rude comments)

Has anyone here been able to recover from career setbacks caused by Dot Com, 9-11, or Great Recession economy? Just turned 40 with 15 years of relevant industry experience, and my Big 4 employer brought me in at a level designed for 25 year-olds. Career progression is apparently based on time in role rather than performance, so I’ll have to spend 8 years climbing back to the level I was at pre-recession. Is there another way, or is my career stuck in neutral?

Hey all- I’m looking to change companies. Ideally to another sales focused leadership role. I have a great track record of success as a Head of Sales — we’ve grown 500% in the last two years equating to $30MM under my leadership and a very lean team (SV fintech). I love what I do but was moved from the Head of Sales to the Head of Growth almost a year ago when our 3rd Head of Marketing left. I am spent doing sales&mktg and want to get back to focusing on leading high performing sales teams!

What type of laptops does ukg give their benefit specialist?@ukg

I’m regularly told that they’re exceeding expectations but then they get reviews that say they’re meeting expectations on a team full of people that do way less than they do? I’ve actually been told that if there was something between meets and exceeds…I’d get that…but there not, so I get the same average performer raise, recognition, etc.

Is this normal? And is THIS what is triggering the quiet quitting movement? Let me know.
