I’d make Sept 2nd or 3rd your last day. That way, you get paid through Labor Day. You’ll have a 3 day weekend, come back for a day or two, then have 4 or 5 days to unwind and transition. Depending on how your company calculates pay and whether your company co siders the Friday before Labor Day to be a half day or not, that could be several days more pay compared to quitting before the long Labor Day weekend.
They’re going to prorate your last paycheck if you don’t complete a full pay period. Does your company pay unused PTO when you leave? Some states require it and some don’t. You just have to pick how many days you want off and make that your last day. You’ll get paid for the days you work plus any PTO payout due.
