Change you. Decide what you want. Is it boundaries? Is it more time with your kids? Is it more salary? All of the above.
First thing is to decide you want it. Then tell and attract other people to your vision.
A new job/industry isn’t going to change how you show up. They are likely to bring you there if you let them.
The puzzle is what's the first action now...
Whatever you do don’t lose who you are. If you feel like this today, ignoring it will just lead to revisiting this same issue over and over.
👌 thank you
How long have you been in the industry and how close are you to a promo? I’m based in NYC so not sure re:London from a cost of living POV, but that would be really hard to pull off w 3 kids & is typically a role filled by pre-kids folks out here
Fairly long, but not long enough for the next level.
The industry isn't going to change, we know that. You are senior enough that you have probably seen that. Are you ready for a promotion or rotation on to one of those other jobs? I'd start having a conversation with your manager about that. If they are smart they will want to keep you. You also need to set some boundaries. That might mean a few uncomfortable conversations. Remember you are being paid for a job, not signing over all of your time.
I could and have had the conversation but unfortunately I'm far more valuable not moving.
Get a client side role - it will be much easier for you. That’s my number one solution but this may take quite a while given your a partner and we’re effectively in a recession
Keep going and don’t give up
