You are the doer, if you need more support you must specifically ask for it....don't expect the manager to be the staff
Pretty sure KPMG2 is that manager!
What do you mean by manage? A thorough review? Depending on your level, you shouldn't expect a reperformance of your work. Again, if you lack confidence in your work, set up a meeting, be proactive, and walk through specific items you'd like reviewed. You are doing exactly what you're complaining about your manager. Manage up.
I could use this advice as well. Issue I have is me and said manager are friends, so I don’t want to offend him. Was thinking of going to deployment and asking to be taken off his jobs since we are friends and people know it.
what are you expecting of the manager? have you asked them directly what you need them to do or help with?
I expect a manager to manage the workstream he’s in charge for.. a lot of the times when I ask him for feedback on my work he barely changes anything and send it up to SM and I have to remind him of the next steps. This makes me wonder what he actually does on this project.. I’ve seen him playing game on his phone during client call and watching sports games during work hours. I’m the only consultant on this project so it’s just too much when he expects me to do all of
