I agree with everyone above. Just also, allow yourself time to grieve and heal. Losing your job unexpectedly can be a lot like losing someone, there is shock and all stages of grief the more you process the feelings & unanswered questions. It's easier said than done, but speaking from experience here. You've worked hard, circumstances change but focus on the pieces under your control. Your mindset and mental space need to be clear for you to move onto the next exciting thing. Practice daily gratitude and remember that you're not the first or only person in this situation and under the current climate, more companies will be willing to understand a gap in job history during this period of time. When you're ready, you'll realize this is the time to reinvent yourself/your personal brand and there are resources out there for the unemployed population. For example, unemployed Americans (all unemployed or furloughed Americans, not just those affected by the current COVID-19 pandemic) can register for a free Headspace Plus subscription.
But first apply for unemployment, healthcare & other paperwork, second go use your benefits that likely end in the last day of the month (vision, dental, healthcare), third dig up your last resume for you to work on when ready, then reread from the top :) It will get better!
Sorry. Good luck to you!
So sorry ! There are lots of Virtual EA jobs out there now, here are some websites to check out
I'm so sorry this has happened to you. To piggy back the other sites that were mentioned, FlexJobs.com is another resource for virtual assistants. I've been contemplating going that route myself.
Welcome to funemployment. Apply for unemployment quickly if you can. Reach out to others laid off and compare severances offered. Don’t be afraid to ask for more. Network with those you worked closely with. Chances are they’ll be in the same boat in a couple months. At least you get a head start on the job search compared to your peers.
So sorry about your experience. I wish you success in your search. Post an updated resume on Linkedin and notify your connections about what you are looking for in your next role.
Oh, no! I’m so sorry. Hopefully you find something much better soon enough. Good luck:)
