Hello I saw a lot of you post about how you use tote bags a lot for errands / work etc. I started painting over the pandemic, and recently turned my abstract art into tote bags! The aim is to bring a pop of colour to an otherwise dull day! :) a fun side project 🙌 something different for sure, sharing the link below! https://ruefranklinart.com/collections/frontpage
Has anyone received equity as contingency comp? I have a potential client with a founders dispute. He doesn’t have cash, and the other founder ripped him off and is now running the company. He wants to sue for equity and wants to pay me with whatever equity he wins. I’ve never done a deal like that. Is that even enforceable? CA law. The startup is actually quite promising.
Who is doing a Christmas/holiday party or other client appreciation event this year? My partner and I are struggling with what to do given Covid.
Anyone done the BCG Gamma data science take home project? I was wondering roughly what type of modeling I should be brushing up on. Regression? Classification? Optimization? Time series? Other?
I have been searching for job from quite a long time and all I have seeing HR/Panels asking for 1. Number of implementation projects done. 2. Work experience on S4 Hana. And if I don't have atleast any one of these, I will not be considered. Is it really that important ? Being joined as a fresher - Is it really something that I can decide whether to be in support or implementation project ? Is upgrading of ECC to S4 Hana in my hands ? And the difference is really that vast ?
When a client won't budge, how does your legal department handle employees personally reviewing/ signing individual IP ownership agreements, NDAs, etc? Seeing more of this lately.
What's the least work you've ever had to do on a project in a day-to-day basis? I feel like my current engagement is pretty slow but the client is happy, just want to keep myself grounded.
Let’s pretend we’re holding companies. I’ll start: No, we can’t hire an extra writer even though you’re clocking 70+ hours a week. BTW, our contract with your client caps billable hours per employee because they know we don’t pay overtime. Here’s a non-billable code you should start using for the rest of the year.
When your team has spent *hundreds of hours* turning crappy client data into something remotely usable (their insistence), then they lead the VP alignment call with: “Now, disregard the data..."
My confidence is very low today. I have a few difficult clients who have been disrupting meetings by trying to push current state and I’m trying to come in with different angles because I need to change quite a bit. One of the males who talks at me sent an email asking if I would like overview lessons of how this client works and that just made me feel like shit. I’m the only female on the team and when I ask my SM for help he says “this is your job” and I just need some uplifting. 😑
Has anyone been legitimately impressed by a CMO or other senior client in a meeting? In my experience, these people are great at articulating their brand priorities but don't always think critically
I’ve been going through a tough breakup that left me a bit devastated. I’m dealing with it but the problem is I’m having a really hard time focussing on work, while right now it’s crunch time on an understaffed project. Anyone been in a similar situation? Any advice on how I can have a better focus while working through this? I can’t mess this up due to this breakup…
When you are leaving a company, should you take any of your files? Any deliverable you made? Would this ever be of use? (Blocking out all client information)
Q for the people that like WFH and never want to go back - what is your living situation? I hate WFH and can’t wait to be back in the office, so curious if other people have adapted better or if their environments are just more conducive to being successful (house with home office and family vs being alone in a 1BR apartment).
Interested to hear how people learn project management. I have done PRINCE2 exam and read PMP materials, but I find these are too textbook theory based. Real life projects seem to be very different and a lot more complicated. I often do not know what needs to be done unless someone tells me. I believe you can learn these things on the job, but I am keen to expedite this with some books or courses. Are there any resources that are particularly helpful?
Those who work remote or are local - what's your food budget per month? Also specify your cost of living. Looking specifically toward single males.
Which of the big 4 + ACN pay the most for SAP?
I’m not getting the experience I need at my current agency and I’m not getting jobs I’m interviewing for because of it. Anyone else experiencing this?
Another laid off case here. Anyone moving out of US considered keeping the 401K as is instead of withdrawing? Any pros / cons to keep in mind ? Pro I see is no penalty and the fact that it'll continue to grow till I turn 65. Con is that it's a decent size amount in my case and I might need some if that cash if I don't get a job soon 🙄
If you moved to NYC in your 20s, did you follow the 30% of salary as max for rent? How much did you end up paying for your space? I’m thinking of moving there next year.
My friend has an interview for a senior position at deloitte next week, could anyone please share how to prepare for it?
Fish, need advice. I received an offer $5k less than the lowest number in the salary range I provided the recruiter. Isn’t the rule of thumb to not move for less than a 30% salary increase?
Laid off. Applying to jobs. Besides networking, what are the top job search platforms/websites? There’s LinkedIn, indeed, monster and Glassdoor. Anything else I’m missing or which is the “best”?
Curious to know, have you dated or currently with someone with mental health issues? My SO suffers from it and I don’t know how to help him. He takes different medications for it which causes his mood to vary from day to day. The medications combined with his drinking and getting high, I worry about his overall health. Sometimes he just makes me feel like shitty person. I’m not trying to be selfish, but it does affect me. How do I handle this? Sometimes I wonder if it’s worth it all.
I desperately want to teach JH History, but every job I interviewed for told me no thanks, they only want coaches (two even specified male!!). Super disheartening. Hopefully one day I can do it.
This will be me when I get to expense my meals again
Sorry if this isn’t the right bowl! I was fired from my last job due to performance issues. I filed for unemployment and was approved, however my former employer filed an appeal. I’m not even sure what they’re protesting but it’s making me really nervous. What should I do now?
I’m so happy that my BMI is finally considered “normal weight” and not “overweight” https://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/health/educational/lose_wt/BMI/bmicalc.htm
Advice needed! Have just been asked to Freelance with W2 form. Without any benefits. Is this even possible? Would I lose my eligibility for Unemployment insurance once the gig ends? I was laid off from my full time agency job 2 months ago and have already freelanced as self employed on an LLC since. Seems like they’re being tight and taking advantage of the current climate.
What interest rate are ppl locking in on a 30year mortgage? Please share FICO, LTV, down payment, and any points. Curious to see with bottom of the barrel 10 year yields, if people are able to get rates under 3%
Black (Stone vs Rock), which one has better exit ops for technical manager role. What’s the bonus potential?
