Hello all, i have. A question regarding compensation for a lateral move. I just received a job offer for an UA position from a competing cyber insurance carrier for $70,000 + bonuses. This job will be based out of San Francisco. I currently make $30/hour for the same role in Chicago, after OT it’s about $60,000. Do you think it would be wise to accept the offer? Thoughts in general?

I was approached on LinkedIn for an early career recruiting role in DFW, TX. I don't have direct experience, but I have the university experience/connections from working in career services. This is the first time I've considered work outside of higher education. I said my salary expectations are minimum $90k and that didn't seem to be an issue. Am I asking too little, too much? Feeling over my head money wise. Moved to a HCOL area and bought a townhome since rent was so high as well. Mortgage is $4k including taxes. I make $200k a month. Did I make a mistake?

I’m not bad with money but definitely lots of room to improve overall, due to several personal factors I don’t want to list in full here (numerous unanticipated medical bills, bad boyfriends, etc.) Hence why I only have $3k in savings right now. My first mini goal is to have $5k saved by the end of December. I need motivation and words of encouragement. If I pay off my medical bills, I won’t make my goal. I have to start putting saving money first. Getting depressed about my situation.
