After a meeting / social interaction, I ALWAYS overthink the things that I think may have gone wrong or less than optimal. How do I stop ruminating, feeling like people think I’m not good or that they don’t want to work with me like they used to? (I’m on mat leave now so I can’t just let things play out and be proven wrong that way)

Some advice that helped me: you are not in charge of, nor would it be fair to either party, for you to try to manage someone else’s reaction to you.

It helps me to think of it like “this is not on my plate”. If they have an issue, it’s their job as a grown-ass adult to make that known to you. Otherwise, it’s their problem.

I know how you feel - people get weird when you take extended leave. Call it sour grapes, out-of-sight-out-of-mind syndrome or people just wrapped up in their own lives.

It will get back to normal once you’ve been back to work for a few weeks.

I used to do the same thing but I had to learn that no matter how much I obsessed over it, it wasn't going to change the outcome. You have to learn how to redirect your focus and think about other things.

I have not been diagnosed with ADHD. I definitely fit some of the characteristics that go unnoticed in females. The good news is if i do have ADHD, it makes me quite good at my job as I’m very flexible and can provide positive energy to my patients. Anyway, my boss has told me I have ADHD multiple times. It seems rude when she says it, and she follows it up with “I say that because I love you” which i feel is so unprofessional all around. Anyone have guidance on how to handle this?
