Hello Fintech team,
I'd love to have some insight on Contis

Location : London
If anyone is familiar with it: they are in Open banking, payments space and I'd be interviewing with them for a product role this week.
Any insight on culture, products, teams, London based opportunity, etc. would be very helpful! Thanks a ton for your support

Learn coping mechanism. Meds are not a magic 🪄. You need to work on yourself! Do your best but don’t be hard yourself as well. Sending love ❤️

Agreed! I’m diagnosed and prescribed meds, but now I’ve started noticing my meds giving me anxiety so I had to stop taking them for now while I find another treatment. It sucks, but the coping mechanisms I’ve developed have made me deal SO 👏🏼 MUCH 👏🏼 better than before my diagnosis. There are so many resources online and community support on Reddit and Instagram, where I’ve found the best tips and suggestions.
What works best for me regardless of meds is sleeping well, eating balanced meals, and exercise. Easier said than done with ADHD but they help me so much. Overall, I’m learning to accept that my brain works differently and I’ve had to reassess my priorities and how I do things.
Medication 💊 is one component of adhd
You will also need to work hard to set routines, dial in your diet, excercise etc so that you can drive optimal performance
For supplements I take LTheanine and coffee together to help promote focus.
I would also recommend the app Inflow to help guide you through how to manage adhd.
It’s going to take time and you will do well then fall flat on your face and have to do it all over again.

$250 what’s your routine to stay on track / what’s been working for you overall ? Diagnosed 2 yrs ago - been a process- learning researching and trying now finally actually implementing
I write on a sticky note: WAIT
Why
Am
I
Talking
And make sure it's to add to the results and not just to get a word in.
Write down questions or comments so you don't forget. Often this is why I interrupt or blurt out.
I also try to set mini targets like- never be earlier than the 3rd person to speak if its a round table query to avoid jumping in.
I love this! I also have to write everything down. And I have a spot on my note pad for all my unrelated notes so I can write them down and make them go away as they pop up vs fixating on them
So why 6 months? Are you in the US? If so the US has a nice dichotomy of both terrible care for mental health and then all the help you can afford. There’s plenty of adhd clinics online that diagnose and prescribe. It’s next to impossible to find an in person doctor. If it’s impacting you that much, would look into online clinics that can diagnose and prescribe.
OP, that makes sense then! Finding a provider with openings can be hard.
My therapist recommended that I get tested for ADHD. So, I made an appointment, took the assessments, spoke with multiple doctors, got diagnosed, started meds, all in within 1 week at the Sachs Center in NYC (but I did this virtually). It was a little expensive, thankfully I was able to submit a claim to my insurance and get reimbursed.
The assessment with one doctor was about $700. The assessment with another doctor prior to writing any prescriptions was another $150. This was all out of network but 80% was covered by my insurance
I had a doctor give me the run around for a while too. Be super persistent. Call repeatedly. Find let it fall off the radar.
What helped me was be excessive about scheduling. Make written plans and lists. It was hard, but if I didn't do it, stuff didn't get done.
I've got a free download on my website - patriciasung.com/resources that gives you a bunch of ideas for treating your ADHD without medicine.
Exercise daily- it helps so much from a mental perspective… & build routines/habits. Structure is your friend. Even though we tend not to like structure, we thrive in it.
Keep on them. Show them the wonder of your hyper focus and keep asking. I didn't pursue keeping my doctors accountable and it took years. I wish I had been persistent, but... I lost focus, no pun intended.
