Afraid not, the diagnosis gives you access to class 2 substances so there are no loopholes. The quickest route you can take is a private diagnosis, this will likely require either insurance or ££.
The wait on the NHS is looong but I can tell you it's worth it. Get on the list now & start therapy, researching ADHD, finding methods that work for you and learn to master your ADHD as best as you can. Medication is a gift but you may get diagnosed and it may not even be suitable for you.
I had to wait 9 months for my diagnosis, but in that time I asked all my questions here, discovered ADHD tiktok (very validating & reassuring), got into therapy & spent a lot of time reflecting and identifying trends and behaviours - it's a long wait, but I have zero regrets for everything I did in the meantime
Best of luck
“The quickest route…..” is BS.
Although C1 means well, dont research, just speak spontaneously. You dont want to give biased answers to doctors. These things are not to be messed around with.
Private Docs will do a thorough assessment. Also you need a referral from a GP. Plus other docs, private or otherwise are often consulted. If you really have ADHD, you will get treatment.
It’s very clear to them. If you’ve got a UK diagnosis, rest assured you’re 💯 ADD or ADHD.
Honestly M1, unsure on your point. The quickest way to get a formal diagnosis in the UK, is by going private?
& there's nothing wrong with trying to understand your brain in the meantime, as long as you're cognizant you don't have the formal diagnosis
Try contacting Psymplicity, you should be able to get an appointment quite quickly
