Ah, the sweet smell of overtime! But wait, is it really sweet? I recently took on extra shifts, thinking it would pad my paycheck, only to find out that the added stress wasn’t worth the few extra bucks. Sometimes, it feels like we sacrifice our health for a few extra dollars. Have you experienced this? How do you balance overtime with your well-being?

“Uncle Sam” has his hand out for all that “extra pay”!

I've had experiences where I've been in the same position. I took on extra hours thinking it would be good to have the extra money, but when I got paid I thought it really wasn't worth feeling as tired as I did. These days I'll only work extra time if there's an situation where someone is needed to fill in. The motivation is more to stay in management's good graces than it is to make extra money.

He’s eliminated the taxes for the higher paid class, the rest of us no change except for higher prices due to tariffs and an economy that now no one trusts!

Unless there is an incentive tied to that overtime shift, you are doing yourself a disservice because depending on your tax bracket, it will cost you more in the end. Tax breaks aren’t what they used to be. 🫤. But best of luck. The added stress used to be offset by double even triple bonus $$$ 💰💰 💰💰

Yes, they were and it's really nothing now. Not worth it at all.

I've felt the same way. I try to set limits on how much I take on and prioritise self care.

How do you set these limits?

Yes, I’ve been there.

What are your thoughts on pay discrepancies based on family structure? Ex. Two people do the same job but one is paid more or given a larger bonus “because they have kids and you live alone” or “because their family is struggling”. Is that an ethical factor if both employees do the same job at the same pace, quality, etc?

I had a phone screening with a recruiter (who is a TD Industries employee- not outside recruiter) I asked specifically when they were looking to hire on, he said a month give or take a few weeks. That was on September 9th. I sent a thank you followup email the next day with letters of recommendation like I had mentioned in our conversation. I sent a second follow up email asking if they had made any decisions on who will be asked for inperson interviews, he said....check comments plz 🙏

Anyone else have a need to exercise daily? A lot of people judge me in a negative way and in reality it is because my ADHD brain needs it. 1) the consistency for schedule 2) exercise can help tone down the symptoms before I sit down for the work day 3) it is the only thing I can control to make it look like I am not a mess (disorganization, interrupting) - basically trying to stay in the game at work based on perception of “having it together”. Just wondering if anyone faces the challenges.

I have just started my journey in Salesforce and I have started working on Salesforce Vlocity. Order management to be specific. I wanted to know what are the opportunities and what kind of job market is there in Salesforce/Vlocity.

Also is it good for learning to start off with Vlocity/Order Management right off cause it is a bit confusing for me.

Some guidance would be useful

I started a new job recently and then had my PTSD seriously triggered, plus a panic attack. Felt so on edge and low on emotional resources for over a week that I wasn’t myself and apparently really rubbed a few people the wrong way so I was called in for a talking to 😣. I let people know there were some personal things going on, but didn’t mention the PTSD—very unsure if that’s something to share, or if I’d be judged for it or... I don’t even know. Has anyone else dealt with PTSD and had it impact them at work, and how did you handle it?
