I had a phone screening with a recruiter (who is a TD Industries employee- not outside recruiter) I asked specifically when they were looking to hire on, he said a month give or take a few weeks. That was on September 9th. I sent a thank you followup email the next day with letters of recommendation like I had mentioned in our conversation. I sent a second follow up email asking if they had made any decisions on who will be asked for inperson interviews, he said....check comments plz 🙏

Today, I received an invite for a coffee chat with a consultant. I’m of course going to do both, but the emails make it seem like they are almost two separate paths/disconnected processes. I have been working remotely since covid getting nothing but positive reviews. My company is not remote friendly and is now telling me I have to return to the office or I lose my job. I just found out a co-worker had a remote position created for them, without a job posting, without an interview and without the experience required (normally a license or certification would be mandatory). I was wondering what kind of contractual or other barriers I might face if I apply for one of the big 4 while working on a project with them in my current company.
I am not too involved in the project but I was in a few meetings and went on a field trip with them as well.
The position that I am applying for is in a different team and city.
Will this considered “poaching” if the consulting firm hires me? Would they need to talk to my current employer?

How does the referral system work? Should I apply from the website and then ask for a referral or is there a chance to ask for an employee to refer internally? Would the latter option be considered ahead of the first option?

I finished a third round interview, and HR contacted me that afternoon saying I had positive feedback across the board and they would contact me the next day regarding next steps. It’s been two days and they finally get back to me saying they haven’t been able to sync with the hiring manager but will keep me posted. Honestly I wish they would talk with the hiring manager and then let me know the decision instead of checking in. It’s messing with my emotions.

Why the heck do Recruiters and Hiring managers do such a poor job keeping applicants informed to the status. I had my time wasted with an opportunity for a fortune 100 position for 3 1/2 months.
