As a vendor, I design and develop CMS/RMS applications. Should I transition to a tech sales job? Thoughts on risk vs reward? I am 34 yo, married with a baby incoming. I work at Google Cloud in solutions engineering (I help develop quantitative business cases with sales teams for customers). My cash base + bonus is $220k (going to ignore equity). I have an MBA from the University of Chicago, not that it matters much in sales. I have always been in a consulting role but I think I can make more in sales. I have a competitive personality and I am bored.

Have customers in your industry seen budget cuts/reallocation since COVID? How have you all rethought your processes to maintain pipeline?

Raises are between 7 and 15%. For just about everyone at every level at every company, depending on performance of you and your service line. You can all shut the hell up now.

Hey is there anyone interested in starting an agency in NYC?

I was just let go from a contract position 2 months early due to client reorgs (Covid). Was filed as a W2 but on a 6 month contract. Would I still qualify for unemployment? Pre Covid I wouldn’t but with the continued Pandemic Assistance plan, I think I might. Does anyone here have experience with this?

I’m currently in the US but starting to miss the family and friends in Europe... The agency I’m at have offices there. How common are transfers? Who do I talk to in the agency? Don’t want to come off as I want to leave but more so that I want to be closer to my family.

Any agencies that have a good reputation, but suck when you actually work there? Wonder why that happens?

I’m creating an ad hoc, pro bono guerrilla stunt for a video game launch coming out end of this month. If you’re an AD that wants to get some cool execution work in you book and have decent photoshop skills let me know.
