All these posts of people leaving is making me nervous to jump ship right now, market might be flooded with public accountants looking at industry jobs. Is it more than usual or is this just normal turnover

Much more than usual. What we are seeing is not normal turnover. It’s a combination of heavy SMs being let go because budget constraints, no raises bc of Covid and then normal turnover on top of that.

Morale in public was very low through November/ early December. That was when industry started hiring like crazy, (probably optimistic after the vaccine came out). People are giving their notice now after the background checks are clearing which also had delays due to the holidays. Just my take...

I seriously cant wait to give my two weeks. My senior was awful, didn’t have a counselor until last week, and the talent consultant was no help. So excited for Monday!!! Happy only two more weeks of this toxic environment

Nice! I got an offer but wasn’t a good fit. Still interviewing so hoping to land a good one soon.

I’d recommend job hunting in the turnaround & restructuring space. That market is hot right now (while most industry jobs have been freezing or cutting back on hiring).

I second this. A lot more opportunities for people looking to break into consulting in this space. It’s still very competitive but I’m seeing people actually getting interviews, unlike pre covid where non consultants resumes were thrown out.

I think it is important to look at your own office and see how many people are leaving. I feel like the post here are not actually realistic of what is happening. In my office, I have only see one person leave since July.

In my group alone we have had 2 senior managers and 2 managers leave within the last 3 months. In the office there’s been more.

It goes in cycles. There is always a decent amount of turnover. It is higher now, but seemed lower than usual the last few years

I am 23 weeks pregnant with my first... And I'm not feeling baby kick. Should I be worried? The internet says you should feel the baby kick between 18-22 weeks, and to call your doctor if you don't feel anything by 22 weeks. All the online forums say they felt their kid kick at like 16 weeks. Additional context: At 20 week ultrasound, she was moving fine and the ultrasound tech was surprised I couldn't feel her then, which is why I haven't been worried until now...

I just found out that the most senior SEO specialist at my company ( technically SEO Manager title ) is making barely 6 figures. Am I crazy or is that unbelievably low? He’s a good friend of mine, and I always took his ranting on being underpaid as him just complaining, but I recently saw the company comp ladder for his position and he’s maxed out at 109k TC.

Legacy OTS here, I still can’t name one advantage from a personal level that I got out of this whole integration with Parthenon. Basically I didn’t get a raise, I can’t apply to any rotation program due to my level, there’s immense confusion, don’t work with my “new” legacy P colleagues who think they are better than us. How was your experience, Thoughts?
