I'm in a ton of debt but im steadily working my way out of it. I'm hoping this place doesn't go full fascist in the next decade. By then, im selling everything I own here and moving to Europe. Americans are absolute morons. Europeans live way better lives.
UK is arresting people for posting memes that the government finds offensive. Migration is out of control, migrants fail to assimilate throughout most of Europe. Might not be as rosy as everyone thinks it is.
I mean this with love: I think you should challenge yourself to step outside your echo chamber. It might actually bring you some peace.
You’re probably consuming a lot of media that’s telling you Trump is bringing on the end times. They want you to be scared and fired up so that you’ll keep consuming their content and driving ad revenue. Trump is definitely doing and saying a lot of dumb and inflammatory things but his administration has been following court orders.
It’s really going to be okay.
OP asks for thoughts on an issue and then gets snarky and dismissive when someone offers a different perspective??
AGC, if you really just want affirmation of a conclusion you have already reached then it might have been better to have posed the question on social media where the algorithm curates who sees your post.
There are intelligent lawyers and people of good conscience who see our present circumstances differently than you. Don’t ask for opinions if you’re not willing to hear all of them.
I think our present circumstances and a test of the strength of the rule of law was coming regardless of who won the presidency in this last election. A Democrat administration would have tested it in ways other than the present administration but tested it nonetheless.
Like it or not, we have reached a place where both parties care more about their viability and power than they do about the rule of law and constitutional principles of governance. They both say otherwise publicly and that they are the only one saving democracy but in doing so they are undermining the very thing they purport to be upholding.
As lawyers, I think we are compelled to uphold the rule of law above any partisan politics and call out issues of governance regardless of whether we agree or disagree with the political impact of such actions.
I’ve been researching how people managed during the collapse of the Soviet Union as I expect the USA will look a lot like Russia in 5-10 years
LAP,
Using what, their army? Or is that America
Y’all need to get out more
You probably need to watch the news more…or understand it more, if that’s your perspective

Stop being dramatic. Trumps not a fascist autocratic dictator, he’s a liberal from the 90s. He’s really only a fascist when it comes to enforcing Israel’s agenda.
To the OP, a lot of what you say sounds like McCarthyism to me as someone who is not an expert on it. Also, the U.S. certainly supported non democratic regimes in the past (eg CIA coups in Guatemala and Allende/Pinochet in Chile, School of the Americas teaching torture methods to foreign military)
I’m starting to think TDS applies to MAGA, not detractors.

I'm just going to give you the benefit of the doubt that you're asking these questions in good faith, and just focus on answering them. I feel totally fine with where we're at as a country. I'm pretty pleased with most of the policies being enacted.
And of course, there is no shortage of wannabe Democratic Presidential hopefuls and aspirational AG's who've made it their mission to file dozens and dozens and dozens of lawsuits to try to block these policies. It's annoying, but I guess checks and balances and all that stuff. They generally get overturned on appeal anyway.
My life is objectively spectacular and my portfolio has grown immensely since election night, so as to everything else, I really don't care. I'm good.
OP, the government has always been full of corruption with grifters pillaging our tax money, and this country was built on human rights violations. The rule of law institutionalizes the best and worst of human nature. There is nothing unique about Trumpism.
Braindead take, good work.
Nice bait, king
Hector is still going to be running 3 Honda civics with spoon engines. How do we deal with this?
