Any advice for a new instructional coach? I just accepted the job and am trying to get a head start over the summer!

I graduated in May of 22. I transitioned from being an intern to being a full time counselor, now for 6 months. I feel like I might be catching my agency at a tough time, but as an employee it doesn’t seem to be trying anything to keep me here besides the occasional ‘motivational’ posts from the administrative team. I felt like I was lowballed during my offer, and my negotiation salary was denied since this is technically my first “professional” job. Pt 2 in comments:

I’m interested in joining a networking / professionals club in the city to meet other ambitious people in industry / banking / consulting. Anyone have a good experience with any groups like this? Thank you in advance :)

Hello Everyone, I have been teaching middle grades math for 8 years(have experience in 6th-8th, teacher leadership, and ed leadership certificate). My district posted an elementary academic coach position last week. Do you all think this would be a good move? Considering budget cuts and my experience or lack thereof.

What is one tool you wish you would’ve had your first year teaching?

Our teachers will be returning to our school building as usual (about 10 days before school starts) whether school is virtual or face to face, so our school is wanting to plan a traditional welcome back for them. In the past, the celebration was usually a whole school group event at on off-campus locale. Unfortunately, with social distancing, etc., it makes it quite difficult to do the big gathering. Just wondering what other schools may be planning to welcome back their teachers. Suggestions??

How do you keep teachers engaged in learning and improving teacher practice at the end of the school year? I find this time of the year to be the slowest and my least favorite, as a coach.

Many of the teachers I work with have great relationships with their co-teacher, but one team is really struggling. What can I do to help them get along?

My home district is considering grading for quarter 4. Is anyone else following this path? I am concerned how can a district grade when they do not support live teaching and the inequity of tech.?
