Daycare has given my kiddo a nickname, that has now stuck 3 years later. I had politely asked them to use his real name 2 years ago when I first noticed it. Walked into the classroom today and heard 3 different kids call him by the nickname. What do I do here? Say nothing and hope it stops naturally? Say something again? Do I sound crazy being annoyed by this?

Welcome to our pre-k inclusive classroom. Even with 8 students, and only face to face for 4 hours, we struggle. We struggle being heard through our masks. We struggle with social distancing. We struggle as we find ourselves constantly reminding students to keep their masks on. We struggle to keep them engaged and to teach. One thing we do not struggle with- building connections and showing out love for each child.

I am really worried and nervous about our future. The past four years have been so difficult in the classroom due to so many things regarding our jobs. Then, we have this awful political climate...

I just started subleasing a room at my new apartment early (actual lease starts mid august, moved in early because one old tenant moved out already). The bathroom is disgusting and clearly hasn’t been cleaned for months. There’s huge brown stains/mold around the drains and the shower gets backed up quickly so I have to turn it on/off so the water doesn’t go up over my ankles. I’m so grossed out, and I realize an obvious solution is that I can clean it myself, but I feel like they should. Advice?
