How do you collect data on classrooms?

What kind of behavior systems do you use in your classroom? I teach 1st grade. I’m tired of using the folder/calendar system with 🙂/🙁 and a prize box. Any ideas?

I’m thinking about moving up to a high school English position from 8th grade English. Mainly I’m looking for a change. Any thoughts on the differences I’d be facing?

I have high school children of my own, but disciplining high schoolers has always intimidated me for some reason. I have excellent classroom management, but I feel like high schoolers are a little smarter ab getting around rules and less worried about consequences.

I’m told by an hs tchr that the grading load is ab the same.

Drop your classroom management ideas here. For my school it sure is nice to have a principal who supports a no phone policy.

Band teachers... how do your virtual band classes work? I’ve been doing music theory with students via google classroom and kids constantly ask to play instruments. It seems like a nightmare to have 30 kids with instruments online because of the delay in sound. Help plzzzz

I work with a classroom of Middle School ED students. One student, who I worked with the year before, has changed alot over the year. Last year (pre COVID), she had a good head on her shoulders and I thought I had good rapor with her. But over that period of isolation, she tried to commit suicide.

All year, she was much more withdrawn and ALWAYS on her phone! At the end of the I was 'beat up by her - she really knocked my glasses off.

How often is the case that partners have been fired or forced out due to performance issues?

Our teachers will be returning to our school building as usual (about 10 days before school starts) whether school is virtual or face to face, so our school is wanting to plan a traditional welcome back for them. In the past, the celebration was usually a whole school group event at on off-campus locale. Unfortunately, with social distancing, etc., it makes it quite difficult to do the big gathering. Hello Everyone, I have been teaching middle grades math for 8 years(have experience in 6th-8th, teacher leadership, and ed leadership certificate). My district posted an elementary academic coach position last week. Do you all think this would be a good move? Considering budget cuts and my experience or lack thereof.

Suggestions for difficult to reach teachers? It’s our 3rd year together, and we have a great relationship, but this teacher struggles with receiving feedback and wanting to reflect.
