Any advice on telling my SM that my current role is not a good fit? I don't want to burn bridges. I'd like to stay on this project but move to another role that aligns with my skills and career path

Be honest, but not entitled.

It happens, we've all been there. And occasionally when scoping roles the result doesn't match the intent. If a true swap isn't an option ask if there are ways you can expand your contribution in the role while they work out a more long term solution.

like

I would also offer a timeframe to switch roles so they can backfill you and you offer that you can train the person coming on in your role

like

Do some of the leg work yourself. Reach out to RM and identify potential back fills.

My worry is that I will sound entitled. My CC agrees with me that this work is below my level though, and she was mad that the role was coded the way it was. I will definitely offer to stay on for a transition period. Thanks for the advice guys

Currently a paralegal at a small start up financial services company been there for just a little over a year. I wear “multiple hats” but more recently I’ve done a lot of PM work and some BA work. My position title is changing soon but I’m wondering how helpful that would be for wanting to go into PM work at a tech company. Anyone have any career pivot advice? (Also I’m only 1.5yrs old in my career so I’m definitely still new, and I have previous experience as a project assistant).

I have a interview scheduled for Data Scientist job can any one suggest me. I am looking for a career transition to Data Science domain.

How does the referral system work? Should I apply from the website and then ask for a referral or is there a chance to ask for an employee to refer internally? Would the latter option be considered ahead of the first option?

Hi! I am seeking for an advise, anything helps! I applied to Accenture’s entry level analyst program. I applied a few days ago (I know it’s a bit late, but the application is still open thankfully). Yesterday, I joined a resume workshop w/ an Accenture recruiter. She went through my resume and said that I have a strong one! I’ve also set up a coffee chat w/ her next week. Unfortunately, I got an email today from the system, they decided not to move forward :( Should I reach out to her abt this?

Dilemma: I am 1 of 4 workstream leads on a large digital transformation programme. My background is Enterprise Architecture, and I am leading a team that includes Enterprise, Solution, Integration and Data Archs.

If I wasn't so desperate for the resources, I'd roll off 2 new integration archs that recently joined.

They both openly challenge my decisions (which are made in consultation with the team) with vague arguments, speak to me as if they need to "dumb down for the girl", and (continues)

So, recently got put on a PIP after six months at my new job., two days after I told my boss and HR I recently learned I have a cognitive disability caused by an illness. The PIP was mostly because I forgot some deadlines, but also they said I need to be more professional in emails (even though others use zero punctuation and a lot of emojis. To clients.) and simultaneously ask more questions and ask fewer questions. Should I just assume this is unattainable and look for a new job again?

M/SM and above, why do you label a meeting as “touch point” or ask if you can have a “quick chat” when it’s something serious? Millennials like us always assume we’re about to get fired - I actually have been laid off in a meeting with that title. But at my new job, my boss asked for a “quick chat” to literally ask me to change the title of a meeting and then chat about christmas. Now that I’m in management, I want to understand it better.
