Totally depends on the company’s talent model. Many companies specifically use the strategy function in the same way that other companies use an LDP, as a testing and trial ground for new GM’s and functional leads. They expect you to find a home in the business after a couple years.

Depends at what level you come in at and your background.
If you're more junior and don't have much supply chain experience, you can probably switch over.
For more senior roles you'll need to have supply chain experience.
You find someone in supply chain willing to trade positions and you let him have a go at your wife. No more than five times but no less than three.
