Any attorneys in the Bay Area practicing just in estate planning (not litigation), can you give your take on whether you would get enough business to do only planning? I'm currently doing family law and I want to start moving away from litigation. For family law there really isn't a non litigation role that produces enough business (i.e. mediation). I do okay, but definitely have to take on more litigation than I prefer. I was thinking estate planning might be a good addition to the mix.

Im in the final round of interviews at VMware and news came on Monday that they are being acquired by Broadcom. Is this something that I should be concerned about? Had an interview last week with a start up. At the end of the discussion the interviewer said she’d love for me to come into the office and meet the rest of the leadership team on the following Tuesday (today). After the call, radio silence. I followed up twice but haven’t heard back. Any thoughts on this? Market turmoil make them rethink hiring?

Moving to another country for grad school. Current firm has operations in the region, but my practice has no presence, so transferring is not an option. Due to visa status, I’m not eligible to work in the country.
