2020 grad M&A/PE Associate in LCOL area thinking about moving to a ECVC/M&A boutique. I generally like the work I do and the people I work with, but I really don’t like the hours and the constant late nights and weekends. Currently on pace for 2250. Boutique I have been eyeing has billable hour requirement of 1500-1600 and comes with a 20-25% paycut. Is this a stupid idea and should I grind it out until I can move in house? Will this ruin my opportunities down the road?

Does anyone have the CFF (Certified in Financial Forensics) credential? Has it opened any doors?

Did anyone here ever take one of the Deloitte Manhattan prep courses? Contemplating signing up for one. I’ve studied for two months now on and off but I think a course could help push me pass the 700+

Anyone transferred from accounting advisory to valuation before? Any tips and advice? I’m getting promoted to manager at accounting advisory, but would like to get into valuation. audited valuations before and currently taking CFA level 2 exam.

Hey everyone! I am currently working as a BA 3 on market expansion and I want to pivot to financial services. I’d love to do strategy, internal consulting, or BA. Downside is that I don’t have a business degree, I studied healthcare admin. Is that a big deal, especially considering my experience?

I'm TC2 at Deloitte w. 2 YOE and MAcc. Working on CPA exam. Some of my team peers moved to Capital One as Senior Business Analyst and it seemed good to me too. Recently I was contact by Cap One. The recruiter asked me if I'm interested in- Analyst/ Associate/ Risk Manager roles at Commercial bank (related to real estate or credit). Those roles require 1-3 YOE, but not Master's or CPA. Does anyone know if above positions are as competitive as SBA?

I can’t get out. I’m a barred attorney looking to move into a JD preferred role. I don’t like being at a firm. I’ve applied to hundreds (literally) of contract, compliance, regulatory, etc. sort of jobs. I’m not looking for a crazy salary either. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. How do I make the switch? Starting my tax LLM in a few days at Georgetown. I'm new to US tax. Any recommendations for a specialty/hot area to focus on (please give reasons) and any particular course(s) you would recommend taking?

I love international tax (in core) and don’t mind compliance at all but it’s been nearly 100% of what I do. Any ways of balancing out with more structuring/planning?

Some background: there’s only 3 of us IT locally and with the departure of our SM, the little structuring/planning work I do see will probably dry up when they leave. Do I network with other bigger offices to pick up that kind of work?
