Any insight on what first year salary is at Cole, Scott & Kissane (CSK)?

I just recently started in August and started at $85k

like

Thank you so much

I am not sure if all of their offices have the same reputation but colleague where I am call it Cole Scott and Insane. 2400 billable hours a year can be quite cumbersome.

like

I believe it

80k is usually the starting point. Billables are 200 hours 😅

like

Thank you!

1st years are currently making between 87.5k to 89.5k base depending on when they joined.

Try for Big law or large FL firms. If you don’t get those, CSK is probably as high of a salary you will get as first year.

like

You can def get a higher first year salary at other insurance firms like Wood Smith.

like

CSK is big. They are the largest insurance defense firm in Florida

Thank you!

Starting at Morgan & Morgan is at least 90-100

Personally I could never do defense because keeping track of billable hours would kill me. Plaintiffs can be absolutely bat shit crazy, but as long as I keep my cases moving and settling the firm is happy.

Been with my current company 5 years now. I run my own team but have a micromanaging boss who likes to create chaos for me. He also exhibits stalker like behavior by looking up my family online (addresses, emails, phone numbers, FB/Twitter accounts, you name it) and driving by my house and commenting on things I was doing during the weekend or after work. I am fed up with it and am starting to apply elsewhere. I don’t think I’ll be able to get the same total comp though. More in comments..

Is it possible to transition from Sales Manager to consulting. Currently making around 100k per year and would like to make a move and potentially make 20-30% more. For context, I have been at my current organization for 4 years and have grown my teams annual revenue from 1,000,000 to over 4,000,000 primarily through improving the culture, processes, and quality

I applied for a job and received an offer from my client. 15k+ bump in salary, better benefits/remote work, and responsibilities will give me exposure to all areas of the organization (start up). The problem is that they’re looking to staff me as a Senior when I’m currently a Manager at DT. They said they’re flexible on title, but curious to hear how others have navigated similar situations. I would report directly to the controller and have 1-2 staff reporting to me...

Has anyone been successful in negotiating the schedule on a global pregnancy bill? My provider won't bill by visit and split the global cost into four payments all due by the 28th week. I don't understand how that's legal since it is so off the calendar of services and crosses calendar years (and insurance coverage), where most costs are incurred at the end of pregnancy with increased visit frequency and delivery.

I was just informed after the third round of interviews they’d like at least 5 references, two must be supervisors. My last job was a temporary remote job where I didn’t really interact with my supervisor and the jobs before that were at my family’s business (I do not speak to any of them for serious personal reasons.) Anything before that was grad school and I haven’t kept in contact with any professors from over five years ago. What should I do? 😕

Recommendations for firms to look into in South FL? I'm in Ft. Lauderdale but am open to Boca or Miami. I'm a first year associate in ID (coverage issues) but really would prefer transactional work. More importantly though, I'm looking for companies who pay relatively well (doesn't necessarily have to be market), are open to remote/hybrid work, aren't sweatshops. I'd settle for insurance work if theres good WLB & $$$ lol
