An air purifier with a HEPA filter and eucalyptus essential oil seems to do the trick for us!
Rainbow vacuums double as an air purifier and the sell water based scents that cleanse the air with it. We love ours!
Use an air purifier and then make sure a pet friendly oil like Lavender, Bergamot, Lemongrass or Frankincense my favs. But there are more ones friendly for your dog :)
Make sure you're using a passive diffuser, rather than the ones that spray oil particles in the air. Also, make sure you don't use it for an extended period of time.
I have the RabbitAir air purifier and love it! Lavender and lemongrass are my favorite pet-friendly oils!
Air purifier is definitely the best option in this scenario - some eucalyptus or lavender will make it all the more better!
I think lavender would be the safest to diffuse around pets. It also actually helps for dogs who get anxious when going out or during car rides. Get the reed diffuser kind, though.
Cedarwood is thought to be safe for dogs and contains potent powers. Cedarwood oil promotes healthy skin, deters pests like fleas and ticks, and has a calming effect.
I use chamomile essential oils at home and it really helps with the smell since I have 5 dogs. I would also invest in an air purifier if I were you.
The little Holmes air purifier, which can be positioned vertically or horizontally anyplace from a table, desktop, shelf, or nook right next to where your furry family members sleep, is highly recommended for smaller rooms. My personal favorite oil in Citronella.
I agree with air purifier! Clean and declutter regularly.
Lavender oil is my ultimate fave. My fur babies never had any issues using it. I tried switching to other oils but I always find myself coming back to lavender oil.
Invest in an air purifier, if possible, in every room. It's an amazing device that can get rid of dog smell in any room of your house. And air purifiers also get rid of airborne dog dander and hair. So, this one simple device not only freshens up your home but keeps it clean too.
I use baking soda all the time. I either sprinkle it around areas where dog odor usually gets absorbed such as sofas, rugs, and curtains or leave an open box of baking soda on a shelf or somewhere near where your dog usually spends a lot of time.
Get a pet odor eliminating candle. I know, I didn't know this existed until I was scrolling through amazon a month ago. It changed my life since then! Best used with a wax warmer, safer and cheaper.
I don't know any pet-safe essential oils at the moment. But I do suggest you fresh up your dog with a waterless shampoo. It's basically the pet counterpart of a human dry shampoo.
I don't trust essential oils of any type with my dogs. I recently got them odor-resistant collars. And I'm not going to lie, it kind of seemed sketchy at first but boy did this prove me wrong! The collar traps your odor instead of your couch, rug, and other furniture.
