One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). I’m aware there are personal aspects I need to work on like my mindset, patience etc etc, but I just get so frustrated with blatant stupidity.

I have a manager meeting post PIP on Friday. I worked really hard but feels like the manager still isn’t happy and I might be shown the exit. I had filed for short term disability for extreme stress due to hostile work environment which will likely get approved on Monday. What’s the best move for me? I am thinking take Friday off so the manager meeting gets pushed to next week when my leave is already approved?

Need help w fam situ: Parents are divorced but share an apt in my city. Dad pays for apt &visits; mom lives there full-time & pays utilities. Mom works PT& has variable income but makes ~$40k; she has no health ins & ZERO saved for retirement.
