Any tips for transitioning into a new firm? I was with my previous firm for 5 years. Came to a new firm a couple weeks ago, and I’m taking over around 25-30 cases, all in different stages of litigation. Any tips for someone who went through this successfully? It’s tough, between 2 different managing partners who are different but my cases are pretty 50/50 between them. My previous firm I had far fewer cases.

I created an excel sheet that had the case name, what stage of lit were at, discovery status/outstanding discovery issues, depos and witness interviews needed, and a general next steps. It sucks but I just locked myself in my office over a weekend and knocked it out

Sit down and go through each file with a fine tooth comb. Break down client contact, facts of the case, where at procedurally, medical review (if not already done), and outline next steps on each file.

Hi guys,
Got offers from @hashedin and @axis bank in the data engineering domain.
YOE-1.8. Skills- Hadoop/Spark/ETL .
Want to learn cloud going forward.
I think it's not product based vs service based but the learning curve should be better in hashedin and axis will give all product based benefits.
Help me decide.
Appreciate your help already.

Hi all! I work at a nonprofit and am looking to leave the organization. As I browse available positions in my area, I’m realizing there is a LOT of crossover between my current org and others, for example shared board members, folks who are on our board and employed at one of the institutions I’m interested in, etc.. Is there a way to say “my current org doesn’t know I’m looking, so please treat my interest with discretion” that doesn’t raise red flags? Thanks!

I received a job offer from a PI firm (MVA and tractor trailer cases) in Houston, Texas; the bonus proposed was 2.5% of attorney’s fees for any cases settled each quarter. We are assigned 50 cases a quarter and the top attorney clears $25K each quarter. This is my first time working at a PI firm. Can anyone share any guidance? Is 2.5% industry standard? Is it realistic to settle/resolve that many cases? I am trying to learn more about this niche before I counter-offer and attempt to negotiate.

Hi everyone - I'm contemplating an offer from a large PI firm. I'm a little more than halfway through completing my 2nd year of practice, and I'm currently at a small firm with a low salary that's just no longer cutting it.

The offer from the large firm is for a pre-suit position, base salary of $100K - is this salary pretty standard for this kind of position?

Any insight is appreciated, thank you!!
