Any tips or product suggestions to keep my 1 year old warm at night? We set the thermostat to 71 but the rooms heat unevenly. The bedroom temp drops to 66-68 at night. She wears long sleeve PJs and a woolino sleep sack. Blanket won’t work yet since she moves a lot. I’m guessing she wakes up at night because she’s cold?

Are you certain she's cold and not HOT? In my house 2 of my 3 would roast at that temperature. My oldest liked the AC at 66 at night and a long sleeve but no pants. My middle kid we used to set the AC to 62 at night and a diaper with no jammies. My youngest doesn't like to be as cold, so he's at 68 at night with long sleeve jammies. We have the heat set to kick in at 60 at night (and warmer during the day when it's cold). My oldest was the hardest to figure it out because he wasn't sleeping through the night and we were trying everything. Then one January night he fell asleep and slept through the night when our heater went out, and that's when our light bulb went off, like hey, maybe he prefers the cooler temps. He was about 7 months. My middle one was probably like 8 weeks when we decided to try a cold night sleep, and boom! So when baby 3 came along and wanted it "warm" we all had to adjust.

We have a space heater that oscillates and is set to 75. It turns off when it hits and turns back on when the room gets colder. It’s off by about 3 degrees, which iOS why we have it set to 75. We’ve got a Bluetooth thermostat in there to tell us the temp. Also, remember … “Cold babies cry. Warm babies d..”

We had to get a Nest thermostat with a room sensor to put in our son’s room because of the same reason. It works great! At the time, the Nest was the only one I could find to do a room sensor so we didn’t have to move the thermostat.

I feel like so much of it is just trial and error to see what consistently works. We keep our house pretty warm - like 72-74 in the summer, 70-72 in the winter - per his Nanit, his room averages 71. Our 1 year old still sleeps best in long sleeve PJs and a fleece blanket in the summer and add a 2.5 tog sleep sack when it's cold. We had him in a Woolino and he kept waking up, so we switched to a heavier sack, make sure he has socks, and he sleeps 10-11 hours. He's a little guy, so maybe just needs a little more to keep warm.

Does the sleep sack have arms? I had a similar issue and only put my kid in like 1.5-2 TOG sleep sacks with arms.
Yes, babies wake up from being cold. That’s pretty cold for a little baby. We left our apartment warmer and had fans on us. (1bdr with no central air in NYC til he was 1.5 years old).

Fleece pj's and a fleece or minky blanket spread flat on the mattress to keep it from feeling cold to the touch if she rolls over.

We put our little one in a merino wool long sleeve onsie and then a woolio sleep sack and that seems to do the trick, to keep her warm, even when the room is on a cooler side

Especially at that age, her room should not be warmer than 66 at night.

We use magnetic covers to partially cover vents to try to make the entire house be more uniform in temperature and it has significantly improved
