Any way to capitalize on client referrals? I’m an in-house attorney who makes a decent amount of referrals, mainly to large law firms. Have a number of contacts with sophisticated clients, such as a hedge fund, buy-side investment shop, startups who like me and ask for my recommendations of counsel often. All have even asked me to represent them, obviously I can’t since I’m in-house. At this point, the book would be at least $200-300k of legal a year but these companies are mostly growing rapdid

I mean sounds like you should go become a partner a firm and capitalize with $$. I dont think <1M gets you partnership at anything other than some small/midlaw firms but idk

I think trying to build a book at a firm is the only way, since getting benefits for referrals is explicitly against ABA rules.

Yeah you need multiple millions in recurring business for partnership at the top shops

like

Agree. And even at a medium shop, 200-300k is a modest number. Also agree with others that if OP has these skills they. might be a candidate to pursue partnership and see what they could do with active BD, but that's a life choice.

like

Probably could bring many of them on with me as a client should I move to a law firm. Also could focus efforts on growing book if I had the support.

If you work with the firms where you are sending others, preferred pricing, dinner, and a bottle of wine might be the best you can do. I am grateful for my referrals, truly grateful, but ethics prohibit me from giving any kind of big thank you gift, and honestly I don't think that's why the made the referral in the first place, and they aren't expecting anything.

Hello,
Can we get promotion after the mid year review in CitiusTech?
Or the promotion for the mid year already done?
I see for many people the designation has changed but for me it's not. I was under the impression that the promotion happens after the mid year discussion or after the year end discussion.
Can someone please tell the details and when we can expect the new revised letter mentioning the new designation.

Hi everyone! I would really appreciate any sort of feedback on my resume. I’m actively looking for new jobs and opportunities because I’m trying to get something in my field but I’ve been struggling to even get an interview. I need help because I’m seriously at my wits end. I’m no longer happy at my current job and want something better.
Any help would be great.

I'm lateraling to another firm because frankly I think the management of this one is terrible, but the people (and individual partners) I actually work with are awesome. I've only been here for about 18 months, so I imagine that short time frame will make it extra awkward 😬
