There are more active licensed realtors than houses on the market. It’s a very bad time to do so. To recoup investment costs it’s not worth the squeeze doing it part time. Also, with the news on buyer agent commission, the realtor market just got 100x more competitive since commissions will be lowered (potentially in future markets)
Hi! I’ve been interested in getting my real estate license. How would you recommend getting started if I’m interested in staying on par with the technology changes in real estate?

I had someone under me do real estate part time and I only figured it out years after the fact
He’s be gone for two hours at lunch, or he’d have his door closed while taking on the phone for meetings that I wasnt aware of
That is not ethical. A person should disclose doing side-work during business hours, unless Flex Time is the norm in your company culture. However, a lot of real estate can be done in evenings & weekends.
I believe being a part-time real estate agent in this type of economy is going to be very hard. With interest rates, high and housing prices high you need to focus a lot of time and effort to securing the deals. If it is something you’re interested in then it also means you have time to work on it and maybe pursue it to make it a full-time job.
Everything is hard. You have to pick your hard. Real Estate is hard but interest rates are already dropping & the largest generation in the US is getting ready to downsize - there will be tons of buying & selling going on. It’s a great time for tech-savvy entrepreneurs to learn the real estate business.

Search this bowl. Lots of similar threads with stories of how little money you will make in the first year or two and how difficult it is to pull it off part time.
Yes it is I gave my experience doing just that. It’s the same questions being asked over and over again. Not sure if people are even reading the bowls. 🤔 Threads & feedback.
You can definitely be successful part-time if you join the right brokerage - not all brokerages support part-time agents.
There is a lot of turnover in the industry & it is a steep learning curve to run a consistently profitable business. Working part-time and “not quitting your day job” is a great way to establish efficient systems and cash flow before making real estate your full-time career.
I am happy to chat with you about more specific pros / cons & how to get started working in real estate part-time.
