Rising Star
In NYC, my understanding is that each project runs very independently and has its own culture.
As a whole, I’ve been told that the national office of the ACLU does not prioritize women’s legal issues. There are other non-profits that would probably be a better fit if gender justice is your focus.

Not an attorney but I interviewed with them and it was a very dry and very structured interview that gave little opportunity for questions or back and forth discussion, and it was four or five of them. Didn’t get the impression it would be a great fit for me. I ended up withdrawing from consideration because of that + the pay.
Probably depends on the location. The state’s political leanings, the people, the office culture, and the litigation priorities are going to vary by location.
